The Embassy of Panama in Greece organized a lecture by Prof. Eduardo Alberto Cano on the Panamanian Traditional Dress within the context of, and in close collaboration with, the IX LEA FESTIVAL (June 9 – 19), the festival of Iberoamerican literature in Athens under the auspices of the City of Athens and the Ministry of Culture of the Hellenic Republic. 

Professor Cano is an authority in the traditional dresses of Panama and specializes in old textiles and their restoration. During his visit Prof. Cano was hosted by members of the Lykeion ton Ellinidon at their center and had the opportunity to exchange ideas and information about the national costumes of Greece and Panama.  Prof. Cano is taking this conference on an European tour, organized by Flor María Banales Countess of Gambirasio d’Asseux, presenting in  Greece, Belgium  Poland, France, and Spain, under the auspices of the Panama Turism Authority and AFAL (Association des Femmes d’Amérique Latine).
