PANAMA AMONG THE CREATIVE CITIES OF UNESCO

Panama has been designated among the Creative Cities of UNESCO, in the category of gastronomy, joining 64 cities of 44 countries that are part of a network created in 2004.

With this designation, Panama is the first city in Central America to enter the Network of Creative Gastronomic Cities of UNESCO.

For UNESCO, Creative Cities must commit to fostering innovation and creativity for more sustainable development.

It should be noted that, within the framework of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development and the New Program for Cities, the Network offers cities a platform to illustrate the role of culture as an engine of sustainability.

The next annual meeting of the Creative Cities Network will take place in Krakow and Katowice (Poland), in June 2018.
