PANAMA WILL BE THE EIGHTH COUNTRY IN THE REGION IMPLEMENTING THE ELECTRONIC APOSTILLE

Thee Public Registry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed the Agreement on the Issuance of Qualified Electronic Signatures, a step prior to the implementation of the Electronic Apostille that will make Panama the eighth country in the region that uses this tool.

"With the implementation of the Electronic Signature project, this Ministry is increasingly approaching its objective of implementing the Electronic Apostille, with the objectives of providing citizens with the efficiency and transparency in the procedures requested from this Chancellery through the integration of information technologies," said H.E. Erika Mouynes, the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

A public tender will be launched this month on the Panama Compra portal, with which the process of acquiring the platform and infrastructure for the implementation of the Electronic Apostille will begin.

The Digital Government is a commitment to transparency, efficiency and citizen trust, embodied in President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen's 2019-2024 Action Plan.
