The Embassy and General Consulate of Panama in Greece, Deanship of the Embassies of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean in the Hellenic Republic (GRULAC HELLAS), participates in ´´Days of Latin America in Thessaloniki 2023'', which will be held for the second year in Thessaloniki from the 16th to the 18th of May of the present year. This action is the result of a joint effort of the Group of Ambassadors of Latin America and the Caribbean countries in Greece (GRULAC HELLAS) with Mr. Ioannis Papageorgiou, Professor and President of the Department of Political Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and with the kind support of the Thessaloniki Film Festival.
This year’s ´´Days of Latin America in Thessaloniki 2023'' will include the second Latin American film festival, with eight films offered by Latin American Embassies in Greece (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Venezuela) screened at the "Stavros Tornes" hall of the Thessaloniki Film Festival and for the first time, a Roundtable between Latin American diplomats and Academics and several discussions about Latin America both by and with students, which will take place at the premises of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
For the second consecutive year, ´´Days of Latin America in Thessaloniki´´ allows students as well as the citizens of Thessaloniki to get to know better the work of some contemporary Latin American filmmakers, and, through them, the society of Latin America. This year's " Days of Latin America in Thessaloniki " through art but also through research and dialogue, continue the effort to create a core of scientific interest for Latin America, a great and so different from the Greek reality region of the world, hoping to establish a firm cultural institution in Thessaloniki, which will contribute to a more permanent cooperation between the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Embassies of Latin America in Greece.
