The General Directorate of Merchant Marine (DGMM), and the General Directorate of Seafarers (DGGM) of the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA) received the certification in the Quality Standard ISO 9001: 2015

The General Directorate of Merchant Marine (DGMM), and the General Directorate of Seafarers (DGGM) of the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA) received the certification in the Quality Standard ISO 9001: 2015 once the audits carried out by the Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance, Inc. (LRQA) certifying entity had been satisfactorily approved, which accredits them as addresses that meet the highest standards in the service they offer.

The Minister of Maritime Affairs and administrator of the AMP, Jorge Barakat Pitty, together with the General Directors of Merchant Marine and of Seafarers, Fernando Solórzano and Magdalena Carrera, respectively, during the ceremony of receiving this international certification, of great relevance in the maritime world, made reference to this recognition that "strengthens us as world leaders and as an organization at the forefront in the fulfillment of high quality standards, while allowing both General Directions to offer reliable services to the national and international maritime community  as a flag of excellence, promoting processes for the development and improvement of the quality system, with the aim of increasing the satisfaction of our customers ".

“The implementation and strengthening of a quality system, based on the standards and requirements of this regulation, is synonymous with the strong commitment of this entity, and of these audited directorates, and the product of the professionalism and excellence of the entity's collaborators, and the leadership of the management teams in charge of them.”

Sergio Garza, representative of Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance, Inc., an independent and impartial company, world leader in the auditing of internationally recognized international processes and schemes, was in charge of delivering the certifications in the ISO 9001: 2015 Standard, at which time he highlighted the satisfactory results obtained in the process of verification of procedures, confirming the traceability of these throughout the reviews carried out in various venues of the AMP, nationally and internationally.
